With concern about the housing market and mortgage rates at an all-time high, we worked with ASB to offer home-owners the opportunity to ‘Run Down Your Rate’.
The faster they ran, the lower their rate. Marathon race times were converted into two-year fixed ASB home loan interest rates – a time of 3 hours and 25 minutes got a runner a two-year fixed home loan interest rate of 3.25% p.a. – which spurred runners to achieve even better run times.
Six out of the ten participants ran faster than they’d hoped, and all of those involved in ASB’s ‘Run Down Your Rate’ initiative received great home loan interest rates. It was so popular, ASB re-ran the campaign the following year.
